About Tanya... Hi there! My name is Tanya Koshowski. I have a passion to promote active and healthy living in children in both their lifestyles & their sport. From my commitment and involvement in sport, I know that training is a vital component of building self-confidence, self-esteem, strength and skill. I am a Learning Facilitator with the Alberta government and National Coaching Certification Program. For the NCCP I am a Facilitator for the Fundamental Movement Skills, a component of the Canadian Sport for Life model. I was instrumental in developing an active living preschool at Cardel Place Sports and Recreation Association. I have been involved in sport all of my life as a basketball, volleyball, soccer, track and rugby athlete. I enjoy running, swimming and making activity a part of my everyday life. I have also been involved in minor hockey for the past 7 years and minor soccer for 4 years. When I am not training teams, I have 2 amazing kids and love being part of Brown Bagging for Calgary's Kids; where I find ways to help feed 3000 kids that go to school hungry everyday, in our communities. Check it out at www.brownbaggingit.org and find out what you can do to make it your problem! I have up to date first aid training and a current security police clearance. | Testimonials: "I just wanted to let you know that our Coaches and parents are very impressed with your classes – even the boys are enjoying them. I’m looking heading to our next hockey season and was just wondering how quickly you book up in the fall for sessions throughout the hockey season. If our coach Jason and I end up on the same team again, we’re really going to push for the team to budget for the boys to get at least 8 or more sessions, hopefully starting in October."
"My son came home very impressed with your program!! He said it was "intense" which is exactly what these boys want and need at this age!
He also said it was so much fun! Go figure...working out and having fun!"
"I used Tanya Koshowski as a team building co-ordinator for our Atom 1 hockey team two years ago and found her contribution to our team's success invaluable. She planned great team-building events and dryland training events that encouraged and enforced a cohesiveness amongst the team. We started out the year with a group of kids that hardly knew each other and ended with a team in the true sense of the word." "Tanya is a true advocate for children. She has a passion to see them develop healthy lifestyles as whole human beings. Tanya’s knowledge as to the various learning styles children have causes her to always be looking for creative ways to engage and challenge them to be individually the best they can be. Tanya recognizes and honors each child's unique skill set and abilities and she intentionally creates an enviromnment of respect and worth amongst her classes."
